Watercolor Crash Courses!
Every time you choose a different subject, you’ll learn new skills.
I’ve developed this class specifically for beginners, but many
students with painting experience enjoy it too. It can serve as a gateway to watercolor or a refresher course. You won’t be required to draw free-hand. This will save considerable time. I will supply a line drawing of the subject, show you how to transfer that drawing to your watercolor paper, and then walk you step by step through the entire painting process. You will learn how to mix primary colors to make all the colors you want for your painting. You will learn techniques such as wet-in-wet, wet-on-dry, and dry-on dry. You will learn how to make mistakes on purpose, such as the “bloom” for texture and background, and fun techniques like masking and spattering.
All classes are four hour classes, always on Saturday, and I offer “Watercolor Crash Course!” in two places: Auburn University and LaGrange Art Museum. Prices are determined by each venue, but in all cases, I will provide the materials you need for the class. No need to bring anything with you.
