You will learn how to transfer her line drawing to your watercolor paper, how to mix colors and you will learn basic watercolor techniques you can use in future paintings. The instructor will walk you, step by step, through the entire painting process and in just four hours, you will have the satisfaction of finishing a small painting to take home. Watercolor Painting ONE
All basic watercolor skills are covered in this class. You will learn: the color wheel and how to mix colors, applying and controlling the paint, and how to use shading to make your subject look three dimensional. After observing the instructor’s numerous live demonstrations, you will use the tools and material of watercolor painting, with her individual attention. All materials provided.

Watercolor Painting TWO
Tuesday, March 14, 6:00 to 9:00 and
Thursday, March 16, 6:00 to 9:00 and
Saturday March 18, 9:00 to 4:00 (one hour lunch).
Total class time is 12 hours.

Using the techniques you learned in Watercolor Painting One, demonstrations and personal instruction by the instructor, and a new palette of six colors, you will complete a small painting in every class. You will continue to learn how to use light and dark values to strengthen your compositions and have fun experimenting with alternative effects.

Drawing Crash Course! at Auburn University, March11. Saturday 12:30-4:30.
This four hour class is a great introduction to drawing if you’re a beginner, and for people who want a re-introduction, or a review of basic drawing techniques, this class is perfect for that too. Improve your observation skills; open your eyes to a new way of seeing. Learn how the act of drawing can be a time of meditation. This class explores traditional approaches to drawing; how combining basic shapes can help construct a complex subject, and how shading is used to create the optical illusion of depth. You will also be exposed to the more intuitive world of artists by doing some of the exercises from “Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain” by Betty Edwards.
